Ancora un paio di settimane per conoscere i vincitori degli International Historic Motoring Awards, gli Oscar dell’auto storica. La cerimonia di premiazione è fissata per il 19 novembre al St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel di Londra. Tra i nominati, suddivisi in 12 categorie differenti, è presente anche l’Italia, sia con alcuni modelli, sia con alcune manifestazioni e con un museo.
L’International Historic Motoring Awards è un’iniziativa inglese, nata nel 2011, che vuole riconoscere e celebrare il meglio del mondo delle auto storiche in campo internazionale: dal miglior Museo, alla migliore gara, al miglior restauro, al miglior club e così via. Il fatto che la giuria sia formata prevalentemente da giudici inglesi e statunitensi e che tra i 21 giurati chiamati a decidere non ci sia nessun italiano, lascia aperta la porta a qualche perplessità sulle valutazioni finali. Ma non sulle nomination delle varie categorie, alle quali si è giunti attraverso una votazione online sul sito del premio aperta a tutti. Anche se, come si noterà, le nomine riguardano soprattutto iniziative e attività anglosassoni, segno che anche gli elettori hanno un peso molto “localizzato”.
